Doctors Care, P.A., located in South Carolina, has achieved Accreditation through the Urgent Care Association (UCA), which is the highest level of distinction for urgent care centers. Doctors Care’s centers provide patients with walk-in, extended-hour medical attention with licensed providers for a large scope of medical conditions and have met all of the UCA’s established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety, and scope of services. Doctors Care earned this distinction through a detailed survey, including an onsite visit, with UCA Accreditation surveyors.

Accreditation is important to differentiate centers, such as those of Doctors Care, which meet the standards and criteria from others in the marketplace, to establish a baseline definition for expected care and, in many cases, to enable centers to qualify for in-network care for most providers. UCA Accreditation is the first of its kind to recognize not only the more traditional accreditation process of quality and safety but also the scope of services provided by urgent care centers.

Urgent care centers treat illness and injury that requires immediate, but not emergency, care.  Doctors Care providers can fill a need for your subscribers that may exist between primary care physicians and the hospital emergency department, especially during times a doctor’s appointment is not readily available. The urgent care centers of Doctors Care can provide episodic care for acute, non-life-threatening illness and injury, are an important community resource, and keep patients out of the emergency room for non-emergency care.  This results in cost savings to both consumers – in the form of lower co-pays or deductible utilization – and employers in terms of total charges.  More and more, individuals and companies are evaluating the availability of a strong local urgent care network when choosing their health plan benefits. Cooperation between patients, primary care physicians, emergency departments, payers and Doctors Care providers can create a network of excellent care options that will put the patient in the proper facility for the appropriate level of care.
